Cheer Up!

What's going on everybody? Hope you all are well! Onto to another blog entry!

Music is an amazing thing, an art form. It always changes and evolves. It's one of the main gears that makes the world run.

I've said many times, I'm a fan of it all! Style, genre, tempo, doesn't matter, all of it. In my latest video, I performed a freestyle to the Top 40 smash hit, "Cheerleader", by Omi! I love the instrumentation on it, especially the trumpet part at the beginning, being a former trumpet player myself. It's got such a cool groove! Makes you feel like you're on a vacation... and who doesn't love a vacation! It's a song that's catchy, starts the party, and also let's you unwind. Perfect.

I hope you all enjoy my freestyle as much or more than the original! Thanks!

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T" Tenebro-Dickey

Don't Get Sick!

What's going on everybody? Hope you all are well. If you're reading blog, everything's fine, I am okay!

Ya know, NSYNC is one of my favourite bands, I grew up right in the thick of the teen pop revival of the mid 1990's and early 2000's, and like most of the world, I loved it! NSYNC's debut album was one of my first CD's, and I played it constantly! I never was able to purchase any of their other albums. I wanted to, but I couldn't afford them at the time.

One of my all time favourite NSYNC songs is "It Makes Me Ill", off their second album, "No Strings Attached." It definitely is a track that is on continuous rotation on my Sony Walkman these days! I'm such a fan of the song that I wrote a remix to it and recorded it twice!

The studio version is available on my latest album, "Press Play on Heartbreak", while the House Sessions version is available as its own single, which you can get here. It is one of the easier remixes I have written to date, and is also easy for me to remember the lyrics to and perform. I had an absolute blast writing it, recording it, both for "Press Play on Heartbreak", and a live session single! I hope you all can enjoy it as much as I do. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

A Malibu Kind of Thing!

What's going on everybody? Hope you are all well! Welcome to another blog entry!

If you've been watching the content on  my YOUTUBE channel or reading this blog, you know that my musical tastes and loves are all the over the map! Truth is, I love all types of music and don't want to just focus on one genre.

In my latest VIDEO, I performed over a song by smooth jazz guitarist, Nils, called "Malibu." I've loved jazz and many sub-genres for a long, long, time and this particular track caught my ear. In fact "Alley Cat", the album the song comes from is one of my favourite albums released this year! It is such a smooth, uplifting, yet relaxing record. So, please check it out. I hope you all enjoy it and come back for more. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

You, Me, and Everybody Else!

What's going everybody? Hope you all are amazingly awesome! Onto another blog entry!

Last year a friend of mine was going through a bit of a rough patch, and came to me for comfort. You know, a shoulder to cry on, a sympathetic ear. I didn't mind at all. I was actually pleasantly surprised that she did turn to me.

Admittedly, I had a crush on her. She is a beautiful, smart, fun-loving woman. We spent some time together, just talking and hanging out, as most friends do. Friends still do that, right? I'm not that old, am I?

For one reason or another, after a little while, stopped responding to my texts, wouldn't return my calls, and basically started ignoring me. Of course, I was disappointed and upset. Before we had actually stopped talking to each other I had written, produced, and recorded a piece that I wanted to give to her, just to make her feel better, and to let her know that I was always going to be there, no matter what.

I thought not releasing the recording to the public because of who it was for, what it was about, and what the fall might be, but I decided to just go with it. I came to the conclusion that if she figures it out, she figures it out, good for her. If she has a problem with it, she knows where I am and how to contact me.

Unfortunately, to this day, we haven't spoken to each other, which still bothers me. I honestly would like, at the very least, to have some sort of closer to whatever this issue is or was. I'm not holding my breath though. Honestly, you all might think I'm crazy, but I hope she is doing well with whatever she's doing and wherever she is.

I hope you all enjoy the video. Please comment, like, share, subscribe, and follow this blog for more behind the scenes stories from this great ride known as life. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

Well, She Said Baby, Now What?!

What's going on everybody? Hope you all are well. Hope you've all had a great summer! It's no secret that I love country music, whether it be current, past, old, or new, it doesn't matter, I love it all!

One of my favourite artists is Jason Aldean! I love his sound, and all his records! I decided to remix one of his hits, and one of my favourite songs from him, "When She Says Baby!"

I wrote and recorded this remix on the same day. Writing the verse was fairly straight forward, no problems, no issues. Recording it was a completely different story.

I was so excited after I wrote it, I wanted to record it that same day! The whole recording process took about 3 hours, and about 50 takes! Of course, getting upset at myself was just natural and it was bound to happen, but I after all those takes, I got a take that I liked and it worked! It's one of the favourite remixes I've written, and I was happy with how it turned out.

I hope you all enjoy it. Please comment, like, share, and subscribe. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

No Problem!

Hello Again, Ladies and Gentlemen! Hope you all are doing oh, so well!

In what was probably one of the easier freestyle videos to record, I performed to the Ariana Grande smash hit, "Problem!" It's really, a catchy tune and instrumental, so I figured, why not?

The day as described in the video actually happened! I had two small yogurt cups and a cup of coffee for breakfast that morning, not too long before I left the house, and by the time I got back, let's just say something wasn't sitting right! Needless to say, I hope I never make that same mistake again!

I had tons of fun with this one, and I look forward to many, many more! Thanks.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

What's going on everybody? Hope you all are super-fantastically awesome! (SUPER-FANTASTICALLY IS A WORD, I'M USING A HOMEMADE DICTIONARY!)

In my latest video, I took on the Andy Grammer hit, "Fine By Me!" It is one of my favourites from him. So catchy, so pop, and so cool! It's got such a great, upbeat, chill out vibe. Everytime I hear, I have to crank up the volume and sing the lyrics, as best as I can to my heart's content! It just makes you feel good, warm, and happy!

Please enjoy the video, it's posted below. Remember follow this blog, comment, like, share, and subscribe! Thank you!

Music, Lyrics, and an Old Demo!

Nearly a month ago I was going through a box of CD's and found an old demo I had recorded during my final year of high school. The memories came flooding back instantly! I had applied to a music production program for college and that was the main reason for making the demo. At the time, I had been writing lyrics for just over 3 years. My library to pick from was pretty big! So the task at hand was to choose pieces that I felt were the most honest representation of me during that time period. The music used on the recordings were instrumentals to previously released hits from other artists because at the time, I had no understanding of song structure, timing, or a way to compose my own instrumentals.

The demo consisted of 3 tracks, two of which were about Mrs. of the moment, and the other was a tribute piece for someone I was very close to. In total, I recorded the three tracks over a 3 day period, while in school. The music teacher allowed me to use his office as a small studio, which I still am very grateful for. He also mixed and mastered the demo for me, which was a massive help and something I will never forget.

Unfortunately, I did not get into the music production program, but I have improved immensely since this demo was recorded. I am still writing, still recording, and the words and ideas never stop coming now. Since I started writing my own lyrics nearly 12 years ago, I have grown in every single way, as a person and as an artist and performer. I have never wanted to do anything else. Writing, performing, and producing is where I hang my hat, and that is where it will stay for a long, long time. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

"It Was No Dream", a song I wrote back in 2007 right before I recorded the demo. It is actually the only track on the demo where my timing was on point! The instrumental used in this original recording is from Craig David's, "7 Days!"

River Run!

Not too, too long ago I decided to record a freestyle over the massively popular Brad Paisley hit, "River Bank." I love everything about the original song! It is wonderfully written and produced. I especially love the guitars and the drum patterns. It is nothing short of the perfect summer song! A tune to crank the volume on, grab an ice cold beer, and just soak in all the good times! I am huge fan of country music, and that is a well known fact. So, creating an opportunity to where I can perform over the instrumental to one of my favourite songs was a no brainer! To this day, "River Bank" is a song that always, always makes me want to dance, whether I am walking down the street or sitting at my desk! I hope you all enjoy my freestyle to this awesome, awesome song! Thank you!

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

Somewhat Celebrity!

In my latest video, I perform a freestyle over the Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP) hit, "Celebrity Chick!" I remember being in my final year of high school when this song was released. I loved it instantly! The instrumental just hits so hard, it's just so awesome! The way all the lyrics are performed by the original artists is just fantastic! I still crank the volume on that song to this day! Please enjoy my freestyle, and remember to comment, like, share, and subscribe! Thank you!

The First Ever "House Sessions" Freestyle!

Back in April, I recorded my first ever live session freestyle! The idea came to life because I wanted to increase the amount of content on my Youtube channel. I produced an instrumental that was a blend of acoustic guitars, a jazz style piano, and a couple of different drum kits. I had originally written a little verse for a friend's birthday and had recorded it very quickly using that instrumental.

Things did not go as planned. The friend in question and I had stopped talking to each other, so the instrumental and original recording sat on my computer undelivered and unused for about 9 months. Fast forward to April 15th, I was sitting in my room and wanted to record, at the very least, a video. At the time, performing live and freestyling off the top of my head was not the plan. However, plans change! I was going through my computer's hard drive, found that instrumental, and the words just flew right out of me! It was so much fun! I felt so, so free! I have done my best to turn this particular situation into something positive, and I think I have accomplished that.

To this day, I still produce instrumentals, perform freestyles, and release them weekly. The response has been overwhelmingly supportive, I cannot thank everyone enough! The first freestyle was a resounding success, at least in my books that I hope to keep producing and performing for you all for as long as I can! Thank you all!

Remember, I release my newest content on FRIDAYS! You can find it all here. If you enjoy what you see, please do comment, like, share, and subscribe! Thank you. The video and cover art for my first ever live session freestyle will be below.

Sincerely,

Leigh "L.T." Tenebro-Dickey

If I Had A Nickel For Every Time...

I recently performed and recorded a live session freestyle over the instrumental to the Nickelback smash hit, "Animals!" The original is one of my favourite songs, and I love the band. I had to grace it with my talents! I love the absolute raw, hard driving energy of the recording and the instrumental! Joey Moi did a masterful job in producing it. Chad Kroeger and Nickelback wrote something so raw and uptempo. I can't help but love it! Enjoy it! Please comment, like, share, and subscribe! Thank you!
